FOSTER MILL SAFTEY AND SECURITY BEAT
We have an excessive speeding problem in Fosters Mill Village.
I know we all see the speeding and many have been frusterated by the speeding in our village. It was not until the City of Houston did a traffic study in our village recently did it become so apparent the amount of speeding that is taking place.
The study showed that 85% exceed the 30 mph speed limit and many exceed 50 mph in our village. This is extremely dangerous when you consider the amount of walkers, bike riders and children now in our neighborhood. The legal speed limit in Fosters Mill Village is 30 mph. This speed limit is set and posted not by the Community Association or the City of Houston but by the State of Texas.
Since the majority of the speeding within our village is from our own residents, we all need to make an effort to slow down and enjoy the beauty of Fosters Mill Village. We have several residents who enjoy walking and bike riding in our village and they deserve to be able to do so safely.
We do not need speed bumps or police patrol. We need to remember the 30 mph speed limit and respect our community and neighbors.
